The painting captures a poignant scene of a baby held aloft by a pair of hands, the only visible part of the person supporting the child. The baby’s naked form and the hands that cradle it are rendered in a realistic style, set against a gradient background that transitions from light to dark brown. The blurred face of the baby focuses the viewer on the act of holding and the sense of care it represents. The artist has signed the work in the bottom right corner, adding a personal signature to this intimate portrayal of nurturing and protection.
